Genealogy and Local History Policy
Taylor County Public Library maintains a Genealogy Research Room that is available to the public. The purpose of this Genealogy Research Room is to preserve and promote the historic and cultural resources in our community in a useful manner.
Materials may be photocopied. The Genealogy Collections are for “In Library Use” only. This room includes these collections:
- Local and area family history
- Cemetery Records
- Kentucky State history
- Taylor County and Campbellsville history
- Civil war information
- Church histories
- Obituary records
These materials are available in a variety of formats:
- Books
- Newspaper Articles
- Notebooks
- Scrapbooks
- High School Annuals
- Microfilm
- Maps
- Audio tapes, serials, CD’s
- Documents
Limited weeding is performed periodically to remove items that are not likely to be used.
Donations to the Genealogy Research Room are accepted and donated photocopies of Family Notebooks will be permitted free of charge. |
